And the land was desert and waste, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And Ruach Elohim was brooding over the surface of the waters.
And Elohim said, "Let there become light," and there became light.
And Elohim saw the light, and saw that it was good. And Elohim divided the light from the darkness.
And Elohim called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
And Elohim said, "Let there become a dome in the midst of the waters, and let the waters become separate among the waters."
And Elohim made the dome, and separated the waters which were under the dome from the waters which were above the dome, and it was so.
And Elohim called the dome sky. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
And Elohim said, "Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place, and let the dry appear," and it was so.
Elohim called the dry Land, and the gathering together of the waters he called Seas. And Elohim saw that it was good.
And Elohim said, "Let the land sprout grass, plants scattering seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with its seed in it, on the land," and it was so.
And the land brought forth grass, plants scattering seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with its seed in it, after their kind: and Elohim saw that it was good.
And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
And Elohim said, "Let there become lights in the dome of sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;
And let them be for lights in the dome of sky to give light on the land," and it was so.
And Elohim made the two great lights: the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light and the stars to govern the night.
And Elohim set them in the dome of sky to give light to the land,
And to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And Elohim saw that it was good.
And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
And Elohim said, "Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the land in the face of the dome of sky."
And Elohim formed the large sea creatures, and every living creature that moves, which swarmed the waters, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. And Elohim saw that it was good.
And Elohim blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the land."
And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
And Elohim said, "Let the land bring forth living creatures after their kind, cattle, creeping things, and animals of the land after their kind," and it was so.
And Elohim made the animals of the land after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. And Elohim saw that it was good.
And Elohim said, "Let us make man [adam] in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the cattle, and over all the land, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the land."
And Elohim formed man in his own image; in the image of Elohim he formed him; male and female he formed them.
And Elohim blessed them. Elohim said to them, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the land, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the land."
And Elohim said, "Behold, I have given to you every herb scattering seed, which is on the surface of all the land, and every tree which has fruit scattering seed; to you it shall be food.
And to every animal of the land, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the land, in which there is life, I have given every green plant for food." And it was so.
And Elohim saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
