Notes on Genesis 2

vs. 2:  sixth day - reading from the Septuagent.

vs, 5: compare adam, man, and adamah, ground.

vs. 6: a description of the rain cycle.

vs. 13: contrary to many earlier translations, this is not the Cush in Africa: it is not Ethiopia.
The name is preserved in the Jyhoon, flowing into the sea of Aral.  Here it probably designates the leading stream  flowing out of Armenia into the Caspian, or in that direction.
